Welcome to the PCDA's Preceptor Match Portal for Independent Students

 

The PCDA is committed to supporting students in completing their performance indicators required to achieve competency to qualify for the Canadian Dietetic Registration Exam.

 

While the PCDA cannot guarantee we will be able to match you with one of our clinical dietitian members, we welcome you to submit your information allowing us to help you in seeking out potential preceptors who are available to take on students.

The PCDA's Advanced Placement Portal is active for Fall, Winter and Spring/Summer semesters. Notifications will be sent out to our membership asking to submit availability over a 4-week period on the following dates:

​

  • January 10th for Spring/Summer placements

  • May 10th for Fall placements

  • September 10th for Winter placements

Please provide the following combined in 1 document using the upload button, below, for consideration:

​

  • Cover letter that introduces yourself and supports your passion to become an RD that includes:

    • how many weeks of placement required

    • 2 options for preferred start date

    • whether you require in-person or virtual placement

    • specify outstanding PIs required (specify "all" if more than 5 outstanding)

  • Current resume that includes:

    • employment history (up to 3 most recent employers)

    • degree(s) / academic achievements​

    • volunteer experiences

    • any current licences, associations, certifications

​Once independent submissions have been reviewed, a notification will be sent to those members who have indicated an interest in providing preceptor support. You will be contacted, directly, if/when a preceptor is available. If you have not heard back within 4 weeks, please check back in using the Contact Us form, below.
